Heating Systems
A property built using SIPS panels will require a reduced capacity heating system compared to a traditional built property due to the whole wall insulation in the floor, roof and walls.
Heated Glass & Mirrors
We recommend and have used in our projects a heating system which generates heat through heated glass in the windows along with heated mirrors in the bathrooms. Utilising heating in the glass allows for greater living space within a room.
This system uses far less energy than conventional heating methods and is ideal for SIPs built properties as no condensation is generated. The system can also be combined with energy generated from solar PV systems to maximise sustainability.
Underfloor Heating
Electric ribbon or cable mat underfloor heating has many benefits over traditional heating systems and can be installed under tiles, wooden floors or carpets.
Warm water underfloor heating can be installed within a screed, wooden suspended, floating or retrofit floor and as with the ribbon or mat system saves space in your property usually taken up by radiators. Warm water underfloor heating can also be linked to renewable energy sources such as solar hot water system and heat pumps to maximise sustainability.
Wall & Ceiling Heating
Similar to underfloor heating this system uses 6mm pipes embedded into plasterboard, fermacell or cement board which can be laminated with insulation (if needed). This system can also used to provide cooling in the warmer months if the installation is linked to an air or ground source heat pump.
